There was some initial discussion of this topic on the openstack-dev mailing list a while back, but it may be useful to have some face-to-face talks as well. The issue to be addressed is the hardware requirements for a full HA devtest run. As it stands right now, a full HA devtest run would exhaust the resources of a 16 GB system, which is what many TripleO developers use.
Possible topics:
-Do we want to allow lighter weight development environments that don't exercise the full functionality of a standard HA TripleO deployment. -If so, what do those environments look like? -Alternative development environments that would allow spreading the load over multiple machines. For example, distributed libvirt VMs or running devtest against OpenStack instances on a public cloud. -Depending on which direction is chosen, what needs to happen to enable use of that environment?
There are some more detailed ideas in the spec for the linked blueprint.
