As an example, short-comings have been identified in the currently available Ceilometer documentation, especially in the aspect of being too developer-focused, at the expense of the content is explicitly aimed to help new users and experienced cloud operators.
The User Guide of this component should contain a Quick Start/Getting Started guide, which is currently missing from Ceilometer's documentation base. One potential first step for filling this gap is to reuse the existing Ceilometer Getting Started Guide for RDO and present it in a distro-agnostic form.
The other incomplete part of the current documentation is the outdated section in the Operations Guide under OpenStack Manuals: http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/openstack-ops/content/logging_monitoring.html . Based on the outcome of the Dev/Ops session proposed for Ceilometer, the Telemetry related section can be extended with the requested information.
The goal of this session is to identify the uncovered/incomplete areas in the existing documentation and proposing ways for filling the gaps and improving the already existing parts.
