Swift core principles and growing pains

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

A combined discussion about where we started, how we've grown, and current community problems we face.

This session will include the following subject(s):

Swift Growing Pains:

While swift continues to be a stable and mature project, we have had a fair share of growing pains over the past year. In this session I would like to spend time hearing from other users as well, and see how we can address some of these pains.

Some examples include:

1. Bugs making it to production
2. Having long running feature branches
3. Code reviews

(Session proposed by creiht)

Swift core principles:

When we began this journey almost 5 years (where has the time gone?) ago in a small office, we had a set of core principles that guided the design of Swift. I would like to revisit those principles and use that as a starting point to codify a set of core principles of swift. As swift continues to grow, and more developers work on swift, I think this will help us all to be on the same page when it comes to the next 5 years of growth.
